Private label quickly sounds like containers from overseas, minimum orders of thousands of units and your own machinery. For wooden serving boards it can be a lot smaller: you pick a model from our range, we engrave your brand into it, and you order from twenty units. Here is how it works, step by step.
What private label means here
You sell an existing, proven board under your own name: shop name, house brand or a custom design, engraved into the wood. No moulds, no production line, no stock risk from a container order. Because the engraving sits in the beech itself, it looks like a product of your own and the brand never wears off.
Step 1: pick your models
Start with two or three sizes instead of one: a compact gift size, a mid-size and an eye-catcher. Browse the category serving boards and mind the difference with or without a juice groove: without a groove you have the full surface for your engraving, with a groove the board doubles as a serving and steak board.
Step 2: supply your design
A vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) gives the sharpest result. We prepare the design for engraving and can do a test engraving first, so you see exactly how your brand comes out on the wood before the full run starts.
Step 3: sample first, buy later
Order a sample pack: three boards for € 25 ex VAT. That way you judge weight, finish and size in real life, and you can put a sample with a test engraving next to your current range.
Step 4: order, sell, reorder
You order in bulk with tiered discounts: the bigger the run, the lower the unit price. If your house brand takes off, you reorder from our stock in the Netherlands instead of waiting months for new production. Live stock levels are shown per product in the shop.
What it costs and what it earns
Personalisation costs a € 29 set-up fee per design and € 1 to € 3.50 per engraving, depending on size. In return, a branded board sells for more than a blank one, while the difference in cost price stays small. That margin is exactly where private label earns its money.
